Very early in the morning of November 20, 2018, I turned off my computer. Microsoft automatically downloaded a “critical update.” Two hours later when I tried to use the computer, I could not. I could not leave the startup page. I haven’t been on the computer since that morning. I am now using our local library’s computers and have not yet decided if I will try to have my computer repaired. However, it is time to start blogging again. Since I also can’t get into my old Microsoft accounts, I’m starting a new blog as of Saturday, May 4, 2019.

I created a “Wall of Shame” a few years ago for really horrendous Legislative votes and Governor’s actions. It is time for a “Hall of Honor” for actions above and beyond the call of duty. The first such “Hall of Honor” goes to the Mayor and Trustees of the Village of Morton, Illinois who prohibited marijuana businesses within the village limits the same day that the law went into force. The mayor proposed the ordinance and the Trustees passed the ordinance 6-0.

Climate Change: an absolutely meaning term. By definition weather changes from day to day. Therefore,
the climate changes overtime. It is absolutely inevitable. Climate as far as
temperature is concerned can only do three things—stay
the same, go up, or go down. Leftist socialists have now adopted “climate
change” as their battle cry which is meaningless. After their original battle
cry of “Man-Made Global Warming” was totally debunked, climate change was the
new lie. It was debunked because their original predictions did not occur,
because it was proven through their own e-mails that data was changed to
support their view, created falsely, ignored when it did not support their view,
and their future models were completely scientifically invalid.

The Little Ice Age

Temperatures
have been slowly rising naturally since the “Little Ice Age” although not in a
straight line. Some scientists in the 1960’s, 1970’s and 1980’s were predicting
a return to an extreme cooling period similar to the “Little Ice Age.” In
either the winter of 1975, 1976, or 1977 (I don’t remember the exact year); St.
Charles, Illinois had a record snowfall and the temperature during that period
never got above 32 degrees. I am 5’ 10” tall. The snow on either side of
our cleared sidewalk was over my head.
We
had a small porch with a flat roof in our back yard. One day, while stepping
onto the porch, I heard a loud creaking sound. Stepping back and looking at the
roof, it was covered with snow. I decided it was time to remove it. As I was
shoveling the snow off of the roof, I stepped back and fell back first into the
snow below. I sank into the snow but not nearly enough to hit the ground below.
I got up, climbed back onto the roof, and finished shoveling the snow off the
roof. The snow was so deep I didn’t get hurt in any manner although falling
backwards off of a roof. That winter was one reason why we decided to move to
Tucson, Arizona.

It
stands to reason, if the world is getting hotter due to “Man-Made Global
Warming” there would be more record high temperatures in the last few decades
than in the past. Yet, the world record is in 1913. Peoria, Illinois has been
keeping records of temperature highs and lows since the 1880’s. That is 14
decades to the current decade of the 2010’s. Of course, 2019 is the last year
of the decade of the 2010’s. July is the hottest month in Peoria, Illinois
according to record high temperatures. If record high temperatures were evenly
divided among the 14 decades, each decade would have 2.2 record high
temperatures. In calculating record high temperatures, a tie goes to the most
recent year. Thus, if 1930 had a temperature of 101 degrees and the same day in
2012 had the same temperature, 2012 would have the record high temperature for
that date. Are the decades evenly divided? Absolutely not.
Here
are the number of record high temperatures for July for each of the 14 decades:

[There were 12 straight days in July with record high temperatures in 1936. The

of record low temperatures occurred in three concurrent decades from the 1960’s
through the 1980’s.
